Season's of Love and War will be released Feb-March 2014 The contract is signed. :-)
Thank you for stopping by.
This will be the last snippet from Seasons for a while.
Book two of the Seasons Saga -- 'December Road' will be out shortly after Seasons of Love and
War-- but no snippets until book one is out..
Instead, I will do some snippets from some other books that are un-edited but will be released next year.
The scene has switched to Beth Ann's POV and I played with it a bit, to give you more since it's the final one for a while
We left off last week with Beth Ann furious. She took off while Kaylob was in the shower.
However,. Kaylob knew where she might be headed, but when he first got there she wasn't there. So, he drove around for hours and finally went back and found her at their special spot under the tree in the park
She was wet and digging in the mud with tears streaking down her face.
He calls her name and reaches out to her. He wants to take her home.
She was wet and digging in the mud with tears streaking down her face.
He calls her name and reaches out to her. He wants to take her home.
“No, leave me alone,” she pushed away
his hands again and tried to keep digging. “I have to tear it up, It doesn’t mean
anything now.”
“Yes it does, baby, I love you and I
always will.”
She kept struggling against him for a
few seconds longer, then all the fight seemed to drain out of her and all she
could do was slump against him.
“Kaylob, ” her voice was so weak that
she barely heard it herself. She suddenly felt so tired that she didn’t think
she could walk if she tried, she stretched her arms up to him and he bent to
pick her up, pausing to kick the mud back in place where she’d been digging.
“Baby, I was so worried,” he said as he
carried her to the car.
She leaned her head on his chest, “I’m sorry, I’m just so afraid because, I don’t want to lose you.
In this moment he promises her she wont. Should he have done that? Thank you again for all the wonderful comments and support with Seasons of Love and War.

ReplyDeleteThank you Joanne, glad you found it sweet and emotional. :-)
DeletePowerful emotional scene! I want to know more. Like what was she tearing up? Also his promise to her---hmm... makes me think he shouldn't promise what he can't control.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the contract! Love the pictures, too.
For now you'll have to wait. ;-) But thank you for stopping by and taking the interest in what he was tearing up. And thank you again.

ReplyDelete~Joyce Scarbrough
They aren't always perfect but if I have time which I try to make I fix them to match. I love artwork so it's fun for me. I never take off the artist marks though, but these had none so I couldn't give the artist credit. Thank you Joyce, I can't wait until it comes out. :-)
DeleteI should read all of this to see how you get to a HEA ending.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and yes you should. ;-)
DeletePerfect scene pics Brenda! Such a heart wrenching moment :'(

ReplyDeleteYes the emotion has just started. Thank you Linda, glad you stopped by. :-)
DeleteWonderful emotion and congrats on the contract. Did you do the artwork? Wish I could.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, I didn't do the artwork but I do PSP. So If I find something I can turn it into what I need. If the artist name is there I always leave it but in these there were no names. I took PSP classes for ten years and I love it. :-) Thank you so much for stopping by.
DeleteI don't think he should have made the promise, but I understand why he did! That's a powerful snippet--I enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right Jane he shouldn't have made that promise. It might just come back to haunt him. Thank you for stopping by. :-)
DeleteLove the emotion! These two are so right for each other! :D Great 8!
ReplyDeleteI think so too Karen. They've loved each other since childhood. :-) Thank you so mch.
DeleteWow! Marsha and I are so happy for you Brenda. Way to go! This was a great snippet, sorry to see it leave but we'll be happy when your book comes out.
ReplyDeleteBradly and Marshmellow.
Thank you Bradly and Marsha, as soon as it comes out I'll make sure you get a copy. :-)
DeleteCongrats on your contract! :-D Interesting story. I wonder what will happen in future, but, I have a foreboding that he shouldn't have made that promise.
ReplyDeleteHello Debbie, I was so glad to finally find you this weekend. :-) you're feeling is correct he shouldn't have made that promise. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteIt often seems like it's easier to quit someone than lose them . . . but it's the same pain, really.
ReplyDeleteHeartbreaking passage!
Thank you for feeling that. I don't think she will ever stop loving him. She's loved him since childhood. :-)Glad you stopped by.
DeleteI loved the snippet though it was sad. Very evocative writing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gem, glad you stopped by. :-)
DeleteI like her vulnerability mirrored against his steadfast nature. Bad things are coming... A promise is a double-edged sword. Good post.
ReplyDeleteYes something not so good is coming that will rock her world more than she could ever have imagined. Thank you so much for stopping by. Glad you picked up on that. :-)
DeleteLovely snippet. Sad and evocative. Clearly, he's making promises he can't keep.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. And her world will be rocked. This is my last snippet until close to the book release. Thank you for stopping by. :-)
DeleteSounds like there is something special buried there. Something that connects them. I'm wondering what he has done to make her so upset, to make her think she's losing him.
ReplyDeletehe is going back for a second tour to Vietnam. They are childhood sweethearts and now engaged and he never talked it over with her. So she is hurt and afraid. Yes, there is something very special buried there. :-)
DeleteOh man, it feels so unresolved. Great snippets, Brenda. I really enjoyed this story. Congrats on the contract. I'll look forward to it in 2014. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I'm so happy you've enjoyed it. :-) Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteI love the artwork. Is that yours too? I too wonder what she was digging up...some sort of time capsule maybe?
ReplyDeleteActually It's PSP. I always leave the artist name posted if I use it when it's there. But I do art over art to alter it for what I need. I added the image of bell buttons and a long shirt on her. had to make his hair lighter and fix his pants. I wanted to give the feeling of a storm. I studied PSP for ten years and loved it. But you could be on to something about the capsule since they are childhood sweethearts and so in love. Thank you for stopping by. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow. Words and images together are very powerful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.. And thank you for stopping by. :-)
DeleteBuilding trust in a relationship is hard. You've expressed it well.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. And thank you for stopping by. :-)
DeleteMy heart breaks for them. And the artwork is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI know Sarah. I just saw this and wanted to thank you for stopping by.
