A STORM IS BREWING!

Thank you for stopping by. Another Sunday snipped.

Last week Kaylob told Beth Ann that he was going back to do a second tour. She was in shock at first but anger soon took it's place. Here's a little peek into their conversation.

He’s just told her that she means everything to him and she can’t believe he decided this without talking it over with her. This is in Kaylob’s POV

He took a step toward her, but she held up her hand to keep him from coming closer.
“Did you not see how bad it hurt me when you left the first time? I’ve been stressed and worried every day. I guess that doesn’t matter so long as you’re with your brothers over in Vietnam!” Tears streamed down her face.
Kaylob felt like his heart was being squeezed by a giant fist. He just wanted to put his arms around her and make her feel better, “baby, I’m sorry, let me hold you.”

“Don’t you dare touch me!”

A SECOND TOUR

Welcome to Eight Sentence Sunday. I'm so very happy you stopped by.

As you know last week Kaylob had something to tell Beth Ann and he was nervous and sad. He loves Beth Ann but feels he has to do this. Something shook him to his knees and he feels he has no choice. Kaylob always wants to do the right thing. But was this really the right thing?

 I’m doing a second tour.”
She leaned back to look at him, shock flooding her senses-- this could not be true.
“What do you mean by a second tour? I told you I’d go anyplace they stationed you. I have my passport and—”
“I’m going back to Vietnam.”
All she could do was stare at him, surely she hadn’t heard him right. He was going back to the war? Why would he do that? They couldn’t make him. The military couldn’t force him to fight in that war again! Just the thought made her nauseated.

The storm outside swelled in waves, matching her mood.

Next week find out just how upset she is. I don't think Kaylob was prepared or understood how much this would affect her.

KAYLOB HAS NEWS!

I left off last week with Kaylob coming home early from Vietnam. Beth Ann is starting to sense something is not right. He's nervous and has something to tell her. So here is a little snippet leading up to him telling her why he got to come home early.

Some of you might know the answer if you lived or had experience with friends or family during the War.

Thank you for stopping by.

The tension she felt in his body was making her feel the same.
He coughed and stared at the floor. “Becoming your husband is something I look forward to with all my heart. But, sweetheart, there’s something you need to know.”
She moved her head from his chest and let out a deep sigh. He was nervous—that was pretty darn clear. The rain outside along with the grind from a garbage truck were the only sounds in the room -- A thunderclap made her jump, and his arms tightened around her. They felt protective as always, but she recognized his look of trepidation. Oh God, what’s wrong?
“Kaylob, what’s the matter? You can tell me.”

Next week find out what Kaylob has to tell Beth Ann.

WELCOME HOME SOLDIER

I'm so happy that we are continuing with Eight Sentence Sunday. Welcome to my page and I hope you enjoy.

Kaylob has just come early from the war in Vietnam and surprised Beth Ann. She never expected him home so soon. But the question is will it end up being good news or bad?

A rattling at the front door startled Beth Ann from her cleaning. Who the heck was trying to get into her apartment? There were robbers all over the place, and she’d heard about some break-ins in the neighborhood. She grabbed the first shoe her hand touched and stepped into the living room. She’d clobber the holy hell out of them. After all, shoes could be a deadly weapon.
Before she reached the door, it began to open slowly. With her heart racing, she drew back her hand in a stance like a Kung fu master.
“Kaylob?” All she could do was stare at him, her hand still drawn back ready to throw.
He laughed and pointed at the bunny slipper in her hand, “don’t let it bite me.”

Stay tuned next week when Beth Ann finds out just why Kaylob is home early.

                                                               Those cute bunny slippers.
