I'm so happy that we are continuing with Eight Sentence Sunday. Welcome to my page and I hope you enjoy.
Kaylob has just come early from the war in Vietnam and surprised Beth Ann. She never expected him home so soon. But the question is will it end up being good news or bad?
A rattling at the front door startled
Beth Ann from her cleaning. Who the heck was trying to get into her apartment?
There were robbers all over the place, and she’d heard about some break-ins in
the neighborhood. She grabbed the first shoe her hand touched and stepped into
the living room. She’d clobber the holy hell out of them. After all, shoes
could be a deadly weapon.
Before she reached the door, it began to
open slowly. With her heart racing, she drew back her hand in a stance like a
Kung fu master.
“Kaylob?” All she could do was stare at
him, her hand still drawn back ready to throw.
He laughed and pointed at the bunny
slipper in her hand, “don’t let it bite me.”
Stay tuned next week when Beth Ann finds out just why Kaylob is home early.
Those cute bunny slippers.
Don't forget to check out the other talented writers. Like Joyce Sterling Scarbrough and Kim Scott. :-)
